Moira's skills and capability in research governance and management have been enormously helpful to the Robinson Research Institute. As a consultant and then Chair of Scientific Advisory Committee she brought the benefit of extensive experience and unique insight to overcome barriers and solve organisational challenges. In chairing the Gateway Review of the Women's and Children's Health Research Alliance, her efforts cut through entrenched structural issues to build relationships across stakeholder groups and pave the way for real growth in South Australia's collaborative research success.

Prof Moira Clay has supported the Department of Paediatric Rehabilitation (Princess Margaret Hospital) achieve our research objectives and build impact in the area of child health.  Moira Clay supported us by helping us establish a research strategy (including identifying collaborators, funding sources, industry partners).  This has led to improved outcomes for children and families as well as establishing our research team as national and international leaders in rehabilitation research.   It is with great thanks to Moira for her vision, enthusiasm, compassion and generosity.

Moira Clay Consulting is flexible, adept and easy to work with. Moira Clay facilitated our strategic planning process with a whole-organisation approach, giving a broad framework for where to go next. She also facilitated working groups, consumers, clinicians, top scientists, stakeholders, external leaders, board members, junior scientists and students - she is entirely at home with any of those groups. Moira's team is completely invested in each organisation they works with. Friendly, warm and quick to develop trust, they discover the best in staff at all levels. They work effectively and efficiently to identify and resolve challenges. Moira Clay is renowned for her bold, big picture solutions as well as being “thoroughly enjoyable” to work with.

The Heart Foundation in Queensland utilised Moira Clay Consulting on two pieces of work: finalise a Business Case for our newly created Queensland Cardiovascular Research Network; and develop a Business Case for the Board outlining different models for establishing a Queensland Cardiovascular Research Institute. Moira has extensive experience in research strategy, and is very well connected in the research community. She was able to conduct key informant interviews with senior research stakeholders, review the research landscape in Australia and overseas and identify innovative models. Research strategy is a niche area and we required this additional expertise to value-add to our own skill base and network.

    Health Director, Heart Foundation (Queensland)
Engaging Moira Clay Consulting has been a fantastic experience for me and for the Centre for Cancer Biology (CCB). Moira involved the whole of the CCB Faculty in developing our Strategic Plan from day one and skilfully synthesised our values and ambitions. She understood our unique culture, articulated beautifully our vision and she added value by galvanising the CCB in the process. Moira was also very perceptive in understanding our immediate surrounding environment and further added value to the CCB by strengthening communications and interactions with our external colleagues. We are now a much richer and energised Institute and this is the result of the fantastic input of Moira Clay Consulting in the CCB.
