Shannon Simpson
Associate Professor Shannon Simpson is a successful medical researcher with a focus on research leadership and strategy. She is also currently a Board Member of the Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand.
Shannon joined the Moira Clay Consulting team in 2017. She is passionate about involving consumers and the community in research and healthcare, and bringing together diverse groups of people to solve big problems. She is often crunching data to back up her out-of-the-box solutions.
She completed her PhD in Respiratory Medicine/Physiology at the Menzies Institute in Tasmania in 2010. She commenced a NHMRC Peter Doherty Fellowship in 2014 (Telethon Kids Institute, WA) and has held continuous Category 1 funding since. She leads a dynamic team of bench to bedside researchers who aim to improve the life-long lung health of survivors of very preterm birth.
